Chuck Melton
The Centralia Halloween Parade Committee is proud to announce Chuck Melton of Hoyleton as Grand Marshal of the 98th Annual Parade. Chuck's story is one of perseverance and triumph. More than two decades ago, a diving accident changed his life, but through determination he discovered wheelchair rugby, eventually competing for Team USA and earning silver medals at the 2016, 2020, and 2024 Paralympic Games. Beyond athletics, Chuck is a dedicated family man. He and his wife of 28 years, Kelly, have shared every step of his journey, raising three children: Blake, Bailey, and Allison, who remain his greatest source of pride. As Grand Marshal, Chuck will lead the parade and select his favorite float for the Grand Marshal's Pick, which comes with both a trophy and a cash award. He'll also appear at the Fall Festival, giving the community a chance to meet and celebrate with him. Chuck says he's deeply honored by the recognition and is even considering a return to competition at the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics.
